SpinSend is a product of AF Studios (“AF Studios”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when labels use SpinSend to send promos and when DJs open them, and how we use it.
Who this covers
- Labels — record labels and their team members who have a SpinSend workspace.
- DJs and recipients — people a label sends a promo link to.
- Visitors — anyone browsing spinsend.com or using our contact form.
Information we collect
- Label account information: name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), label name, contact details, website, logo and branding settings.
- Content labels upload: audio files, artwork, track details and release notes. This content belongs to the label (see our Terms).
- Recipient information provided by labels: DJ names and email addresses that a label adds to a promo, one at a time or by CSV import.
- Label permission declarations: before adding recipients, a label user must confirm that the label has permission to email them. We record the exact wording and version of that declaration, which account confirmed it, the time, the IP address and browser/client, and the outcome for each address added or skipped. This is the label’s own declaration; it is not proof of consent collected by SpinSend.
- Opt-outs: when someone unsubscribes from a label’s promo emails we record that choice, the time, the IP address and the email client or browser used, and we keep the address suppressed for that label, including if it is imported again.
- Promo activity: when a DJ opens a promo link, plays or downloads a track, we record the event, the time, a one-way hashed form of the IP address and the browser’s user-agent. Feedback a DJ submits (verdict, rating, comment) is stored and shared with the label that sent the promo.
- Contact form: your name, email, optional company, topic and message, plus a hashed IP address for abuse prevention.
- Label billing information: when online billing launches, AF Studios will bill labels in USD for their SpinSend subscription or pack through Stripe, our payment processor. We will store only Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and plan status — never full card numbers. SpinSend does not process payments between labels, DJs or other recipients, and DJs are never asked for payment details.
How we use information
- To deliver promos and show labels who played, downloaded and responded to them.
- To operate, secure and improve SpinSend, including preventing abuse and rate-limiting logins and messages.
- To reply to enquiries and provide support.
- To manage plans and billing.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use DJs’ data for advertising.
Sharing
Promo activity and feedback are shared with the label that sent the promo. We use service providers to run SpinSend — such as hosting, email delivery and, when billing launches, Stripe as our payment processor for label subscriptions and packs — who process data on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Cookies
SpinSend uses strictly necessary cookies only: a session cookie to keep labels and platform administrators signed in, and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Promo pages are kept out of search engines.
Retention
Labels control their releases and recipients and can revoke links at any time. We keep account data while a workspace is active. We retain email addresses and opt-in and opt-out records for at least five years for compliance and audit review, subject to applicable legal requirements. That includes permission declarations, recipient import records and opt-out records, together with the IP addresses, client details and times described above. Closing or deleting a label workspace does not remove these records, and access to them is restricted. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle the enquiry.
Security
Connections are encrypted with HTTPS, promo links are long and unguessable, passwords are hashed, and each label’s data is kept separate. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information. DJs who want their details removed from a promo can contact the label that sent it or us. We review deletion requests under applicable law through a separate, logged process; where the law allows, we may keep a minimal record that an address opted out so it is not emailed again. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
Children
SpinSend is not intended for children under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
